The SHANBHAGS group started in 1964 as a contractor for industrial civil construction and fabrication. In the 1980’s, we transitioned towards manufacturing the indigenously designed “ROHINI” brand of AC induction motors and permanent magnet DC motors. Eventually, we divested from these businesses to focus entirely on the fluid handling market. Since the 1990’s, we have been operating under 2 sister companies:
As Shanbhag and Associates (S&A), we represent several international pump manufacturers as their sole distributor in India. For many of these products, we operate through a national network of sales & service engineers to provide speedy services to our customers all over India. Products in our portfolio are designed for specialized use-cases such as solid-liquid slurries, hazardous liquids, sanitary applications, and so on.
Shanbhag Engineering Company (SEC) is a regional distributor of Kirloskar Brothers Limited for their entire range of industrial water and process pumps. SEC is also an authorized regional sales and service dealer for KAESER COMPRESSORS, a world leader in rotary air screw compressors and compressed air accessories.

2000S&A is appointed as sole, national distributor for Lutz Pumpen GmbH of Germany.
2003SEC is authorized to be regional sales and service distributor of Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. in the Mumbai region
2005SEC is authorized as regional sales and service distributor of KAESER COMPRESSORS (India) Pvt. Ltd.
2007S&A becomes the national authorized distributor for Bombas Boyser S.L. of Spain, and OMAC Pompe of Italy.
2013S&A takes up the national dealership of M Pumps s.r.l. of Italy and Jung Process Systems of Germany
2019SEC’s KBL dealership is expanded to cover the Pune region
2022SEC opens its first office outside Maharashtra, with a new office and KBL dealership set up in Surat, Gujarat
An engineer-entrepreneur, Sunil is the driving force behind the SHANBHAGS group. He holds in-depth technical knowledge of the pump, motor and compressor products, along with a keen understanding of their commercial dynamics. His role is to continuously explore new opportunities, market segments & related areas of business to maintain consistent growth.
Anita heads the Finance team and handles all accounting, compliance, customs, and taxation-related matters of SHANBHAGS. She also manages all human capital and administrative matters in the day-to-day running of the company. She is also visiting professor of Management Accounting at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
